$20,000 Challenge
Welcome to the Dubois County Humane Society $1 Challenge! The challenge was created to allow for an affordable fundraiser that can still provide a BIG impact! We've been hearing over the past year is that it's getting tougher and tougher for people to make donations that they previously had, and they also don't feel like donations as small as a dollar will provide any kind of impact for local organizations. In the rescue world, it's simply not true!
With rising costs, shelters across the world are struggling to keep up with the current pace of expenses and an increase in dogs and cats needing rescues. We want people to be able to feel like a donation as small as a dollar can be helpful and impactful in saving lives. In conjunction with our milestone of reaching 20,000 followers on Facebook we have set our bar high at a goal of $20,000 to raise. With this $20,000 goal we would be able to provide care and find homes for 133 dogs and cats.
Over 200 strays have found their way to the doors of DCHS in 2022 alone. That's 200 animals that would’ve had nowhere else to go and no second chance at wonderful lives if DCHS couldn’t afford to provide the services we do. Because of even the smallest donations that have been given to DCHS over the years we have become a no kill community. This means no dog or cat is euthanized for a lack of space. Staff, volunteers, and local agencies work tirelessly in their efforts to provide the opportunity to all stray animals to either be reclaimed or come to DCHS for shelter, full vetting services, microchipping, and to be adopted into homes. All of these amazing things that happen in Dubois County for animal welfare are only made possible by community donations. So please know whether you have $1 or you have a $100 to donate, you're always providing an impact and a safe haven for all dogs and cats in Dubois County
